Merger with Allied Waste Industries

On December 5, 2008, Republic Services, Inc. completed a merger with Allied Waste Industries. The merger brought together two mature companies with similar business practices and performance metrics that have been developed and refined over the course of a number of years. The combination of our maturity, proven business practices and performance metrics will be a critical component of our future success. Our merger gives us a unique opportunity to combine the strengths of these two successful organizations and create a best-in-class waste management company.

Allied Waste and Sunset Waste Services are now a Republic Services Company.

Republic Services has in excess of 240 employees in the Grand Rapids/Muskegon area supporting local business, communities and community projects.   

Grand Rapids and Lake Shore Residents:

Please place your container curbside the night  before your scheduled service day.  Containers should be placed no further than four (4) feet from curbside with the handle side of the cart away from the road.  Please have no obstacles (mailboxes, trees, automobiles, additional carts or totes) within four (4) feet of the container.
